The state-owned broadcaster has brags of three channels, CRTV, CRTV News and now, CRTV Sports and Entertainment.

Under the patronage of the Minister of Communication and Board Chair of the Cameroon Radio and Television, Rene Emmanuel Sadi, and other distinguished members of government, the Director General of the CRTV Charles Ndongo in his speech said “CRTV sports and Entertainment will give priority to action and not analysis or commentaries of sporting events.”

This channel comes to existence at a time when two of Cameroon’s Football teams will be representing nation. The Lionesses for the Women’s World Cup and the Indomitable Lions will be in Egypt for the African Nations Cup.

Speaking to Atlantic Chronicles after watching the inaugural ceremony, a fervent CRTV fan in the South West region, Divine Ngwa said “I have been waiting for this channel for the longest time, now it is here, I just hope and wish my aspirations about this channel are met”.

Though with a plurality of media organs, CRTV Sports and Entertainment is the first of its kind in Cameroon which has dozens of broadcasters.
