One of the main opposition parties in Gambia the United Democratic Party (UDP) has purchased sixty motorbikes and six vehicles for the party chairpersons, executive members and militants across the country.
In a bid to 2021 presidential elections, a source close to UDP told Pan African Visions that: “The party has secured 100 motorbikes and 60 have already arrive in The Gambia recently”
Abdoulie Suku Singhateh, UDP Organising secretary confirmed that so far 60 motorbikes has arrived with six vehicles to be distributed in within the party regional bureaus to ease their daily activities on politic.
“All the motorbikes are purchased from China and we are expecting more, as a party we want to reach out to all the four corners of the country in selling our agenda to the people in a bid to the presidential elections in the country,” Singhateh indicated.
Alimami F. Taal, spokesperson of UDP confirmed the arrival of the motorbikes and vehicles, adding that the party will make an official handing over of the materials soon.
He pointed out that this is part of their recent congress resolutions that all regional bureaus to have a mobility to facilitate their day to day activities.
